Through a rather perverted interpretation of the Second Amendment to the U. S. Constitution, Americans have the right to own deadly weapons … guns. Nowadays the combination of Tea Party activists (and their behind-the-scenes support groups like the Koch brothers), the Conservative Republican Dog-Whistle Party, and any wing-nut with more than three tattoos and a Gadsen Flag, support and advocate the open carrying of deadly weapons with sufficient ordnance to guarantee a spot up front in the line at the Winn-Dixie on the eve of most any barbecue holiday in America.

Is Gun Ownership Like Drug Addiction?
A Reminder
The NRA or National Rifle Association is the lobbying representative of the gun manufacturers and as such is only concerned with the financial health of the gun manufactures. As long as people keep buying more and more guns, the NRA keeps the gun manufacturers happy and if sales are not robust enough, the NRA is not ashamed of ginning up fear and loathing with such bogus concerns as “Obama is going to take away your guns” or “thugs from the inner city are planning to rape your daughters” or “only a good guy with a gun can protect against a bad guy with a gun” or “the founding fathers wrote the Second Amendment to the Constitution expressly to allow armed citizens to rise up against a tyrannical government like the current administration.”
If you think for one minute that the NRA is concerned about gun owners, think again. As long as the gun owners keep buying guns, the NRA is happy. It’s sort of like being a drug pusher only the drug is guns.
