I’m having trouble seeing any problem with my logic here. What do you think?
A very recent study has declared that the more guns there are, the more people are killed by guns. Seems reasonable, but let me rephrase that in words most Americans can understand:
Guns Kill People and therefore More Guns Kill More People.
Still seems reasonable. Then I was thinking that the biggest advocate for guns in this country is the National Rifle Association or NRA. The NRA has openly advocated more guns for Americans. Add to this my meager knowledge of politics in this country: I am well aware that the biggest supporter of the NRA (and visa versa) is the Republican party and it’s convenient partners (or alter-egos) Conservatives, Libertarians, Tea-Baggers, Racists, Homophobes, Misogynists, Fascists, and Wing-Nuts.
But when I put together all this reasonable logic and the obvious facts, I end up with an equation something like:
Republicans —> NRA —> Guns —> more people killed.
Following the logic I must conclude that Republicans support the killing of more people. Am I wrong?
