Is there a bigger insult nowadays than “Florida man”?
Here’s a peek at Florida’s Anti-Woke banned book list. A couple of them make sense considering Republicans should be terrified their constituents might read “1984.” You might notice that few classic novels are on this list and those that are present are decidedly for younger readers. Of course, that makes sense; at least for now this book banning is purportedly to save our children from evil (or was it to save them from thinking for themselves?).

Well, the old testament forms the basic for Jewish law, therefore deals with all aspects of life. As for Toni Morrison’s book, they should be proud that their countrywoman won the Nobel prize. Even us stuffy Brits aren’t thus bigoted. Trouble is the growth of the far right worldwide encourages narrow minded creeps.

What a nonsensical list! It includes a book of the Bible! I suppose Song of Solomon talks of love between a man and woman in poetic terms, but the Bible? As for the other books, it seems a totally arbitrary list. I think the whole world has taken a stupid pill.

Actually I assume it is referring to Nobel Laureate Toni Morrison’s Song of Soloman (which I might consider the best novel on this list). It’s certainly worth the read but it involves Black people so it is dangerous. On the other hand, I have seen many instances when unattributed Bible passages were rejected, This is understandable since the Bible is full of naughty stuff.
