There is a very convincing conspiracy theory being touted over at the Daily Kos in a post by Mark Sumner. Simply put, it demonstrates possible evidence that Donald Trump is a paid operative of Vladimir Putin in an attempt to foment chaos in the United States electoral process. The post is titled
This is taken from a very informative post at the Daily Kos. I am re-blogging most of the original post so no one with miss the details and nuances of each item. However, I recommend reading the original post titled, Top Ten Reasons To Vote Republican and poking around the Daily Kos for other equally informative and interesting articles.
Note that this list is not an indictment of all Republicans: it simply suggests ten good reasons for some people to feel at home in the GOP. For instance, the list doesn’t suggest or imply that anyone is a bigot, but it does posit that anyone who quacks like a bigot will probably find the Republican Party to be welcoming with open arms.
Here is a helpful little glossary from the Daily Kos to assist in understanding Republican-Speak:
1. “small businesses” really mean large corporation 2. “simpler tax” means more tax cuts for the wealthy 3. “secure medicare” means destroy it 4. “repair and replace obamacare” means destroy it 5. “secure the borders first” means treat Hispanics as second-classed citizens 6. “all lives matter” means we need to shut-up and take our murders like men 7. “horrified by planned parenthood” means I really need evangelicals in my camp 8. “take America back” means get them AAs out of our White House! 9. “the economy is in turmoil” means obama saved America from a great depression 10.” I won’t lead from behind” means I’m starting wars with Iran, Syria and maybe Russia too.
As those who have followed this weblog from the beginning know, I have been highly critical of Apple on several occasions. Going all the way back to 1977 I have experienced great triumphs with Apple and also several highly disappointing failures. Did you buy a Lisa? An Apple serial card for your Apple ][? What about that Cube thing? So despite my allegiance to Apple products and my complete avoidance of anything from WINDOZ, I am aware that Apple is not sacrosanct and I will readily admit it.
However, Apple is the most successful company on earth and the second most successful company in the history of the earth (the original Dutch East India Company has top honors when adjusted for the present value of money). I smile nowadays when I think back to the dark ages when all the rumors were that AT&T was going to buy out Apple—that Apple was in a death spiral—and now they are poised to become the first one trillion dollar company in the modern era. Where is IBM? Where is AT&T? Where is GE?
