Brian Love published an interview with Stephane Charbonnier, the editor of Charlie Hebdo, for Reuters in 2012. Charbonnier was slaughtered in the attack by Muslim extremists on the offices of Charlie Hebdo along with eleven other employees. News this morning suggests that the French authorities have isolated and killed the two brothers implicated in the brutal attack. It should be noted that the brothers insisted they would fight to the death and die as martyrs to the cause (all those virgins and other childish fantasies). Ain’t religion silly?
I have reprinted the basic Reuters article to add an historical frame to the tragedy in Paris.
